Message from Mike Evans, Ormskirk Scouts
There are no water releases from the reservoir of Llyn Celyn this weekend. This is due to the current levels of the reservoir and the weather forecast for the next days, which has prompted the Environment Agency to lower the flows on the river Tryweryn, as natural river flows are reasonable in the river Dee catchment at present.
However, the Ormskirk Scouts division two / three event at Bala Mill will go ahead this weekend.
The division 3 events will be ranking on both days. A decision will be made on Saturday morning (by the organiser and the jury chair) as to whether the division two will be a ranking event - dependant on the rainfall, which is forecast on Friday night and should bring the river levels up to a reasonable level. If the water levels are too low to host the division two - an open event will be run.
For your information, a navigable course has been set at the mill,
and while there is no water release, there is flood water in the river and it is currently raining in Bala, and likely to continue overnight.
Refunds will be made available to any division two competitors not wishing to travel. Contact Mike Evans on 07912 301041 for further information regarding this.
Thanks,
Richard Lee, on behalf of Mike Evans, Ormskirk Scouts.

Very enjoyable weekend despite the lack of water as mentioned.
I'm afraid you need to look at your results for Saturday.
Jonathan Atkinson came last, not first in Div 3 K1 men (one day he will thank me for being on honest)
And I'm pretty sure I'm right about the following;
John Dickenson won the Div2 open.
Sally Atkinson won the Div2 ladies open.
Pete Atkinson won the officails.
