I have quite a few entries and will put the provisional start list on the Slalom website his weekend.
BUT at the moment we have virtually no water at Shepperton and no real rain forecast.
It will be OK for the Div 3 but doubtful if enough water to run the 2.
If we do run the Div 2 it will be almost on flat water - opinions please!!!

Whose weather forecast are you looking at Dave? The Met Office one is suggesting quite unsettled conditions next week with rain in eastern and south eastern parts. Bottom line is that we can only wait and see.

Cheers,
James

Seems to be lots of rain forecast over the next few days.
Flat water for div2 definitely not ideal, but I need points so happy to race whatever the level.

Well it's rained, not a lot but it all helps! We have planned a fairly technical course, so even without high water flows it will be hard work! A fairly flat Div 2 but equal for all.
Last chance for entries today avoiding late entry fees! Please email me with full details.
Provisional start list should be up on the web tomorrow.

Dave, It's rained constantly 4O miles west since Thursday and it rained all the way back from Cardiff last night and is still raining now. Hoping it will filter down.

There are so few Division 2 slaloms in the south of England that we must run this one regardless of water levels. Anyone who has been to an event at Shepperton knows that it is one of the best slaloms of the year and if we have no water then so be it. The change from a Division 3/4 event to 2/3 was a great idea and being so late in the season means it is popular due to it being the last one for clubs such as ours based in the South West.

Well done Dave and see you on the day.

The course is up - 19 gates of mostly flat water!
Entries will still be taken each morning but we are quickly filling up.
BBQ will be lit for Saturday evening so bring some food to cook.

That's a dish of ointment! I had been hoping recent rain might have brought the Thames up a bit, but obviously there wasn't enough, or it just got soaked up by the dry ground.

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Dave,

Thank you for running such a well organised event yesterday. Despite the lack of water we all had a great time and the technical course meant that the results were not very different from what we had expected.

The food available was excellent as always and the tent provided to shelter in was very useful during the brief rain shower.
