Harefield Div 3&4 Double
Well, it's only a few weeks away now until the Harefield Div 3/4 slalom on 8th/9th August, and things are being put into place again for another excellent race weekend.
There will be camping just a couple of hundred yards from the slalom site available from the Friday evening.
There is also a course guide on the Canoe Slalom Website to give you more of an idea about Harefield.
We're also bringing back the team event again this year with teams on Saturday afternoon as it was such a success last year. We'll be quite happy to take either full team entries or part teams and fill them up through the day... We will be accepting late entries on the day but only until 10:30 on Saturday and 9:30 on the Sunday. Refreshments will be available during the weekend.
Lets hope we have the same weather as we had last year to make an excellent race weekend.
This is one of the only slaloms where you have a Public House at the finish line...
All we need now are some more entries...
Hope to see you all soon!

Well, it's only 2 weeks away now until the Harefield Div 3/4 slalom on 8th/9th August, and things have been put into place again for another excellent race weekend.
A field for parking and camping is arranged just a 100 metres from the slalom site available from the Friday evening. Hopefully a cold water tap will be available but cannot be guarenteed at present. Please note that NO PARKING is allowed in public house car park over the competition weekend as we cannot afford to upset the landlords.

Hi Munchkin
We are looking at racing commencing at 11:30 Saturday and 11:30 Sunday this may change slightly depending on amount of late entries as we have had loads of emails regarding groups wanting to attend. Any way i would have thought you would want to do some training on course instead of having i lie in!

Well then the slalom course is up with just a couple of slight tweaks to do in the morning, we have even had paddlers out on the water this evening having some practise. Car parking/camping is in the Clancydocwra grounds and not in the Coy Carp car park, for those that are camping we have managed to get the cold water sorted. Entries are still coming in we will be accepting entries on the day until about 10:30 am both days but the earlier the better so as to not cause any delays as race is planned to start at 11:30 sharp. The refreshment tent is also up and will be up and running in the morning. Lets hope we have the same fantastic weather and competition that we saw at Harefield last year. Hope to see you all at the weekend.

Well what a busy weekend, what with the laptop going down and the printer packing up on Saturday morning we had a bit of a delay but got everything sorted and the racing started. None of the competitors seemed to mind as they all had extra practice time on the course, the racing went well and all seemed to be having a good time and we even had some good tight racing in the team event with 10 teams entered. Sunday was a much smoother day with no issues apart from water level first thing in morning but that was soon back to normal. Just to say a big thank you for all the paddlers for tuning up and racing with all having a good time with fantastic weather again (will try and book it again for next year) and making the event such a success. Congratulations to all those paddlers that gained promotion over the weekend and we hope to see as many paddlers again next year at Harefield. This has got to be one of the best attended slaloms of the year for Div 3/4 with over 100 entries on each day (plus teams Sat and judges). A big thank you to all those that helped over the weekend to make Harefield 09 the success it was and to those stuck in the refreshment tent for all there hard work (to many names to list but you know who you are). I would also like to say a big thank you to those of you that have taken time to email me saying what a good time you had over the weekend, it makes all that hard work worthwhile.

Firstly, many thanks for a great weekend.
Unfortunately the great weather meant that my son removed his cag by the riverside on Sunday and forgot about it for the rest of the day.
On the off-chance that it was seen whilst packing away, could you please pm me and I will arrange to pick it up.
Cag in question is:
"Delta", small , semi-dry, long-sleeved, grey and blue (I think)
Thanks
Andrew
