A short course division 4 winter slalom will be held at Bala Mill this weekend - Saturday, 8th December. Practice starts at 10.00 am. First runs at 12.00 - 12.30 pm, with second runs an hour or so later. There will be teas, coffees and snacks on site - so if you want to get ahead of the game for 2008 - come on down to Bala Mill on Saturday.

Even if we only get a few entries it will be worth it, as more participants can be introduced into the sport at a local level. We'll give you an update on how the event goes - and then maybe we will look at running them through out the year to provide a simple, local opportunity to introduce slalom.

Great couple of hours in Bala - shame about the weather.
Great organisation with timing / judges and the idea of no break between races - especially given the attocious weather!!
Have the next one pencilled in the diary and hoping to stay a bit drier next time - river a litle cold at this time of year to go swimming in.

The second of the winter short course Division 4 slaloms at Bala Mill will be held on Saturday, 5th January.
Practice starts at 10.00, with the race starting at 12 - 12.30 pm, depending on numbers. Competitors can take their runs back to back if they want. Entry fees are £4.00 per boat, entries in a second class are free.
In order to assist with planning the event for racing and catering, please let me know if you are going to attend the race - no need to pre enter, but an indication would be helpful for other potential competitors as well.

The next short course slalom at Bala Mill on Saturday, 9th February is cancelled. Due to the heavy rain, the water releases on the river Tryweryn have been increased to 16 cumecs for the foreseeable future and it is difficult to set a reasonable course on this level.
Bala CC will organise a series of short course events in the summer.
