katonas, glad to hear that things are progressing well and hope that the injury front repairs well with your dad.
I know only too well how a simple fall can develop into a major injury, a speed wobble at HPP, developed into a left arm broken in four places with two plates and 15 screws to hold it all together. Three months with reduced time and responsibilities at work ! All sorted now though.
Its amazing how much help you find being offered by the paddling fraternity.

errm, no not unless someone can explain why the points are wrong! I sure that the formulas follow what the year book says and i've double checked them in my head and still come up with the same points. The only way i can see you'd get those points is if someone competing had already been promoted or was ineligable but i'm not sure how i'm supposed to check that. anyway sorry if i am wrong but no i'm not planning on redoing them (mainly because they come out the same!) Jim informs me that there is some standard programme for results now but as i don't have it yet it will have to wait for next years event (if i have time to run it with the increasing paperwork organisers are lumbered with but that will be another thread if i can find the time!)
Speed wobble? Who'd have thought it. I never thought of speed being in your perambulatory repertoire (which is a phrase I use all the time.) Unless of course it means a tilting effect exacerbated by amphetamines.Neil Footitt wrote:speed wobble at HPP ....... reduced time and responsibilities
Reduced time I do know about though. I am certainly a exponent of reduced responsibility as you well know and reduced time is why I am out now and able to add to this
Smurfy Neil, please tell how you broke your arm in more detail so we can all try not to do the same thing. Glad to hear its healed.
Looking at the results from Sat bib 999's results must have been removed with 2nd place getting slightly less points, and the rest of the paddlers getting more. Perhaps there was some reason why 999 shouldn't have been included.

Sunday's results are also adjusted - my 731 points was increased to 760 as Jim just posted. I looked at the C1 div2 winner on Sat and the points on the summary differ so I guess these have been adjusted as well (I don't pretend to understand how). Wow, it must take ages compiling /checking results. Thankyou Jim and to everyone else involved.
I just looked at it my initial comment is that if your higher 875 points for Saturday has been derived from the fact that 999 has been removed from the equation, you should have 869 points
There were 24 paddlers including 999 and the 875 seems to have been based on 24 but if 99 is removed then surely it is 23 - hence 869???????????
Still looking at it re C1 though

Yes, given the numbers of competitors in C1 and C2 that weekend they may have been affected too.oldschool wrote:Your right if K1m points are wrong then 3 other classes will be wrong; C1m C1w And c2. very annoying!
The same happened for the HPP Div 3/4 and there were a number of reasons that happened:
1. Competitors not realising they had been promoted (and hence racing in the worng division); and
2. Organisers not promoting Div 4's that should have been promoted.
Other reasons could be unranked paddlers paddling in a division rather than realising they have to apply for ranking first (or race as an official and apply for ranking) etc etc.
Although "annoying" for you it is not the organisers fault and, having gone through the same thing this year, it is not for the organiser to fix. Thankfully we have well trained ranking compilers that do that job
