Hi, Steve here - I'm the admin and owner of this board.
The forums currently run on a piece of software called Ikonboard and the hosting is provided by PlusNet. I'm going to be moving away from PlusNet in the near future so I will need to move the board to a new host.
The new hosting will be with 1&1. It's a proper paid-for service so performance and reliability should be at least as good as PlusNet has been.
At the same time I'm planning to upgrade to new software called phpBB. Although Ikonboard has been very reliable it's old fashioned and it's an uphill struggle for me to block spammers who constantly attempt to sign up. phpBB has all the features you're used to but should make my life easier!
I will be performing a migration of the the existing posts and user ID's so you should be able to continue to use your current details and no content should be lost.
Assuming all goes well the board will be down for a few hours on Sunday 8th Jan and will return in it's new form. If the conversion fails the current board will be reinstated.
Wish me luck!
Steve
