Slalom poles
Slalom poles
Cheltenham CC need to colour red/green stripes on plastic slalom poles for Symonds Yat slalom 2014. Can you share details of a supplier of sticky back red and green plastic suitable for the task? Or, have you a robust paintwork solution?
Re: Slalom poles
For plastic poles I use red and green sticky back plastic obtained from my local department store. Looking on the back it says d-c-fix. Just google that and you get eg. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/vinyldepot
You may already know this but with plastic poles to ensure a sensible weight put concrete in the bottom - glue a foam plug in the bottom, then using a large funnel pour dry concrete mix in, followed by water.
John, Gloucester Canoe Club used to have a full set of poles (they ran S Yat and Elan Valley in the 70's). I wonder where they are hiding.

Re: Slalom poles
Good info thanks. Any more tips? Other than plumb waste tube has somebody has a recommendation for thicker non-bendy plastic tube?
Re: Slalom poles
broom handles, not fork handles.
