I don't have any good solutions but I'm just appreciating your choice of names (fritz button!)

Re: The Club Experience, and only the Club Experience
Ok so I'm going to get told off for talking about the wrong thing but I do think it's relevant in some ways... I started canoeing in London and what I found was actually that what put me off/held me back was the lack of slalom-specific clubs. General canoeing clubs are good at getting people to go c...

Re: McConkey Slalom 2012
I'm pretty new to Div 1 and so at the bottom of the pile in terms of skill at the HPP race. i did find the sunday course hard, but i liked it that way. i got 50s on both runs. but that doesn't mean the course should have been easier. There'd be no point in racing if I could do all the courses well a...

Re: Why only one olympian?
another quick one - why was lee valley built, rather than using new courses such as cardiff or tees? was it not possible to use those?

Re: Why only one olympian?
if we need to take away events to allow for new ones, i'm sure almost everyone would agree they should be taken from swimming: Canoe Slalom: 4 events. Swimming: 34 events . i mean, is it really necessary to have a 4x100m medley relay, 4x100m freestyle relay, 4x200 freestyle relay (all for both men a...

Re: Why only one olympian?
i guess there are really more than one paddler from each country - half the paddlers are actually from france.

Why only one olympian?
I was just wondering really. In slalom, it appears that (apart from C2 in special circumstances) only one paddler is allowed from each country. but in other sports, if you qualify, you get in. so there can be lots of people from the same country in the same category. are we only allowed one because ...

Re: Olympics !
Ah that's brilliant. Thank you and it explains why it was causing an issue for some. Spinning got you tight into gate 13, but seemed slower, whereas keeping the boat pointing downstream, seemed faster but through 12 took them low into 13. Oh and I haven't heard a single, "Hup, hup, hup !" Yet. :lol...

Re: Olympics !
gate 12 is a split gate with first pole river left, 2nd pole downstream of it on river right. so yes, upstream pole is closer to left bank (from the paddler's point of view) which makes it interesting - coming in far river left, across stopper, spin and right hand side of downstream pole to get to g...

Re: Olympic funnies
I bet non-slalomers were very confused by that guy's commentating, i was willing him to shut up. it would be nice to hear some more info on the course too - they were saying they don't know any info like how far the course drops (5.5m) and how big each drop is (2m, 1.5m etc) and i'm sure it would be...

Washburn Anyone?
Hello,
Is anyone going from the Washburn race back to London?
I have no way of getting there/back and I'm eager to use up any space in your car! I could meet you anywhere in London. I'd preferably want my canoe bringing too but could borrow one if needs must.
Any ideas much appreciated.

Re: Rolling Rankings
the only issue i can think of is for newcomers - they will be ranked near the bottom until they've done 5 races, which may not show how good they are compared to others. perhaps they should be given 5 results relevant to what they've got already, so for example if they've done one race and got 400 p...

LOST - Reed Trousers
I've managed to misplace my trousers somewhere and would be grateful if you can keep an eye out for them! They're long canoeing trousers made by Reed, they're made from a material that looks a bit like latex. They're black with a white Reed logo on the thigh. I think they're a size M. I don't think ...
