Frome Canoe Club, look forward to welcoming one and all to what is without question the best Div 3/4 slalom of 2010 (*in the SW) We've been hard at work today, and everything is now ready. We've set up a fast modern course that we hope will provide a challenge of all. http://farm2.static.flickr.com...

Last night we ran a local mini slalom at Langham farm. The first time we'd tried this, and it seemed a great success. I'd be interested if any other clubs do similar, and if you have experiences to share. The basic idea is to keep it as simple and low key as possible, so we can run a series of thre...

Hambledon was an excellent race, but I imagine it was a pig to put up. I think it involved all sorts of wooden A frames set up on an island. I don't know if there is anybody still active who was involved in the organisation. Neil Underwood used to organise Hambledon on behalf of Chalfont Park Club....

Great to see this thread alive, and still very much kicking! Google for most slalom boats now and you'll find this thread ;¬) My apologies I've not done an update on the first page for a while, but I will get round to it sometime, so keep the memories coming! I'd had a few enquirers, so just to be ...

If your French is up to it, there is a lot of stuff on the FFCK chatroom on eaux-vives Cheers for that John ... had a quick look. Will reserve a bit more time tonight, however this line from their admin last year raised a smile ... les vidéos de technique slalom sont particulièrement rares sur le w...

Hi, I'd like to be able to show videos of Olympic success duing introduction to slalom sessions. You know the thing .. Cambell or David winning Silver. All I can seem to find online (YouTube) is Campbell's qualifying from Athens, or David at the Olympic Test in 2007. Anyone got a source for videos ...

AndyA - The Virago and Kick need to be credited to Technique as mentioned earlier. I have seen Technique around at slaloms again recently with a new junior boat. Cheers Dave, will do. I plan to do a uipdate over the weekend, as there are a whole batch of changes building up. But overall its looking...

I have to agree, it is for every family to decide what works for them, and what the priorities are. I also think event organisers can help by considering competitors travel time when setting start and prize giving times, and providing clear info so families can make informed choices and trade-offs....

In 1975 Prijon came up with the Perfekt, made in the UK by Gaybo, it was probably the biggest jump forward in slalom boat design ever. It was basically a 3.5 meter boat with very big spikes. Unfortunately people were hurt by it, ..... A good add on subject would be to work out what boats descended ...

Anyone up for a retro race at an event in whatever 4m they still have kicking around? 210 long Mitchwood or Kober wooden blades too? I think the main reason for them being so long was to be able to reach the surface from the height of the super bouyant kayaks! lol PP Wow, thanks for all the info gu...

Hey Nicky ... thanks for the info. I'll add to the "master" list tonight all the days updates. Got any rough years for those models? I've been out of the sport nearly 25years, so make no apologies for missing stuff. But I hope if we all share, between us we can come up with an amazing list, that wo...
