Hi, My daughter (Amy Hollick) left a pair of long peak wet trousers in the ladies changing room at HPP last weekend. They have her name sewn on the waist band, if anyone has found them or mistakenly taken them home, we will be at HPP this weekend. She has also lost her pink adidas watch, although s...

I still don’t see the benefit of moving back to an end of season promotion from Division 1 to Premier. Assuming a paddler requires 4500 or 450 points by the end of the season to get promoted, where is the incentive to continue racing in Division 1 once you have accumulated the required number of po...

The focus is very much on the K1M, which might not be applicable for the K1W. Looking at the K1W Div 1 paddlers, a group went up mid season and the rest on the final two races of the season. I don’t personally see what’s wrong with that. Those paddlers who went up mid-season have done well in the P...

Munchkin is correct, and the McConkey results from HPP make it clear as to how it works. The only exception is for those world ranking paddlers who paddled in the final, but only on the basis that they were classified as world ranking e.g, they missed the cut on Saturday or in the semi-finals. For ...

I note from the HPP slalom calendar that there was a provisional booking should there be an issue with the Town Fall races.

Anyone know why HPP wasn't used instead ?

Life is about balance, and each of us will have a differing view on what that actually means. An adult thru life experiences can differentiate and prioritise what is important, to ensure the right balance is struck; a child is less likely to do this. But we should not turn this country into a total...

Rule 3.1 of the year book states that the short season cut off date is the 31st July. Whilst this works for promotion to division 2 and division 1 due to the number of races, it’s clearly a big disadvantage for anyone being promoted to the premier division. There are only 9 premier division races, ...

The advantage of training and racing at HPP is that it prepares you for a fast flowing river in a safe environment, yes there is always a chance you will swim, but there are no rocks to bash the paddler or kayak on. When it comes to Grandtully and Tryweryn the consequences are far greater if you ca...

As a newbie to Div 2 I don’t know why people are complaining about the course on Sunday. So the course was a challenge, but isn’t it supposed to be at Div 1 level and above ? My aim is to become a better paddler, challenge myself and get into Div 1. Its an option to shy away from HPP, play it safe ...
