Based on CWs post in the 'ACM Motion' discussion thread, I don't believe you need another club to second the motion. It would appear that the motion can be brought by a single club but has to be signed by two full BCU members. It also needs to state though that the proposed motion was passed at a c...

As the slalom race is only being held on the Sunday now, there is a very good chance that turn out will be poor for our 2nd ACM on Saturday 17th October in Llangollen. Can I urge as many of you to turn up and support the meeting therefore. I've also decided to set a start time of 5pm for the meetin...

I don't think that situation would arise as long as we were prepared to take the best single run from both days. Obviously, only those that qualified to the Sunday would get the opportunity to better their Saturday best run times, as Alice did this year, but I think this is within the spirit of com...

Hi Elaine, I can see where you are coming from but don't think your argument is valid. Just because Mallory and Alice qualified through to the Sunday due to lack of participation shouldn't give them points taken directly from the semi-final K1M points table. This over-rates their performance agains...

Hi Elaine, They are based on the Div 1 K1M as though they had entered the Div 1 race, as the other 3 girls had done. This was done on the basis that they would have got worse points against the Prem K1M and could have resulted in the Prem C1W entries getting worse points than the Div 1 C1W entries ...

OK - not wanting to undervalue the volunteers we have out there - what triggers do we need to put in place to enact change to the current ranking system? The main gripe appears to be the lack of officially scrutinised electronic results being made available on a web site for all to view & check wit...

I understand where the 3600 figure has come from now and is equivalent to the K1M promotion from Div 2 at least.

We just need Munchkin's number crunching now to agree on a multiplier, using CPs suggested areas to focus the stats on.

Oh, and I forgot to add that C1 men only need to achieve the equivalent of 3400 points rather than 3600 points to gain promotion to Div 1 - but they don't have the benefit of a multiplier of course.

The Slalom Committee is meeting this Sunday to discuss both international entries and the British Open, so I would expect an announcement to appear on the UK Slalom web site next week at the latest, but don't hold me to that as I am not the race organiser. Numerical entries from each nation had to ...

Hi Duncan, Some sports operate in this way with electronic results being posted and verified within a timely manner, but I doubt it would be cheap to implement and you would probably need to recruit a whole new set of ranking compilers to run it. It just needs someone to look in to all the options ...

Hi Dave, can you please provide a few more details about your proposal, e.g. inquorate event numbers, separate divisions, etc.? I'm struggling to work out the calculation used to achieve 3600 points at a mixture of Div 2 & Div 3 races. Perhaps some examples would help? Personally, all I would like ...

This year's ACM is planned to be held on 28th November 2009, according to last year's minutes. Motions for this meeting must be received by 29th October, so plenty of time yet.

I wish I hadn't posted now!! I am not trying to put people off attending the C1W camps - quite the opposite in fact. As other's have already posted, everyone will be assessed for their ability in a C1 on moving water and groups will then be formed so that no one is presurised in to doing anything t...
