But with the current system if i want to go to an event just for fun and enjoyment & get timed runs for free all I have to do is judge. Is judging such a hardship (usually 2 hours a day max?) What is the difference other than I would have to pay for an entry and get no ranking usefulness from the r...

"My suggestion is to allocate a Divisional status to each race, and only give ranking points at a Div 2 race to Div 2 paddlers for instance; but still race off one start list and produce one results list for each class. " Where is the incentive for anyone else to enter then? What is the point in tu...

I'm at home tending an injured shoulder sustained completing sundays course. I regard myself as one of the more technically proficient div 1 paddlers but found that course was ridiculus and took no consideration for the highly changable water conditions around the looping pool area. poor poor poor.

I can see any other difference than warm water. You can hold a race on a lake so why not? I recall a div 5 back in the day on the winfield pools! Should someone get a motion together for the agm as it does seem daft.

I saw a couple of protest forms rejected at the euros. The reason given was "video evidence confirmed the penalty". I was still under the impression that video evidence was not admisable, or maybe i'm way out of date. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me?

Thought that the div 2's gave a good account of themselves although the Div 2 K1W results raise the question of should a paddler be able to be promoted if they win with a 50? Well it was quite a demanding course, if they only got one 50 they did well, I watched several of the Div2 paddlers just flo...

Just a thought but would "bearercams" be better than pole mounted cameras? once a pole has been hit it can spin for quite a while and then you would have no idea about where the gateline is. In terms of using the technology for judging i think its a bit of overkill, but perhaps if a clear angle is ...

i have the now quite old double dutch bent modified from about 98. the only straight bit on it is the bit that attaches to the blade. i'd estimate that the blade sits a good 1"-1 1/2" infront of where a straight shaft would bring the blades to. it definatly heps me reach past my toes anyway!:D

once a stroke gets past your bum it stops propelling you forward and starts turning you anyway. I understand about the fads of fashions but i'll stick to a nice modified krank until i find something that feels better to paddle with. after all the only point of a change is to improve what you have t...

come on spider!! get with the times!!! in all seriousness the modified krank gives you another inch of reach infront and therefore an inch more reach on bow rudders as well, all that extra leverage can only help!

I would on the whole disagree that paddlers get promoted before they can handle the water. A newbie div 1 paddler in whatever class is far more capable of paddling the Graveyard than the average boater that gets on the Tryweryn. I'm sorry to disagree but when 30% of the men and 70% of the women get...

I'm not the biggest fan of current system, as it places too much responsability on a paddler who has just finished a run. The time that I spend after a run is mostly spent recovering and I doubt that I could perform any sort of effective rescue for at least the first paddler after me. I certainly t...
