Health and safety "nanny-state" as I said I don't need protection thank you very much, I big sign stating that this is a dangerous area is more than sufficient to mitigate the risk which is after all relatively small. The "poor sods" who have to implement the rules need a lesson in manners - I don'...

No I wasn't wearing a BA!!! I wasn't wearing one at Bourg or Argentiere, or Tully or any other site in the Europe. Why does everyone have to "protect" me? If I fall in that's my own silly fault. Where is the big risk? It's more safe than practically any other site in the country, how many coaches/s...

Hi, Has anyone else experience the over zealous Rafting Nazi's at Lee Valley? I went there the other weekend to check out the course for the first time and if you cross over the chain to check out the water they jump on you and physically man-handle you back. I mean WTF? We can happy check out HPP,...

Full Carbon/Kevlar Carbon Hull, Kevlar/Carbon Deck – Blue to Dark Blue fade Cut for 75kg - This boat has NEVER been raced only used for 3 summers of a weeks coaching, it spends the other 51 weeks of the year collecting dust, so apart from a few scratches on the hull it’s in excellent condition. I a...

Mark, why is the "ENGLAND" ACM being held in Wales? Surely this sort of meeting should be held in Centrally in England so that paddlers from all corners of England easily attend? Not just a few Elite paddlers that happened to be in Wales for a race. Just a thought! Maybe it should be held at Interc...

There are some very reasoned arguements on here. However in order to get changes in the rules. You should get your club representatives to propose a motion at ACMs. It was disappointing to see such a low turn out last weekend. If any paddler has been demoted to a division, they feel they can make g...

Nick, For an alternative view point: You could overcome the "Bias" as you say by stating at the beginning of the season how many up and down. There would be then no arguements as the rules are transparent, much in the same way the selection rules are clear. This hasn't been proposed as a motion yet...

Thanks very much for all your comments, nice to have a balance of opinions. As you might have imagined I asked a number of other paddlers too and their recommendation was a Quantum Plus, I will see what other stuff is available first however. I will not be going for a top construction nor a boat wi...

Hi, I am thinking about returning to racing after a ten year layoff and want to buy a new boat. I prefer to buy British so I guess my only choice is Nomad, which is cool as I've always paddled them. What are peoples opinion of the current designs. I've seen a few Energy and Force boats around? Any ...

What is the real difference between a climbing helmet and a watersports helmet. Both are designed to stop you hitting rocks, surely they are both going to be ok. More to the point has there actually been any reported cases of someone being injured at a race because of helmet failure, I bet there ha...

unlikely as the course is the only part of the National Water Sports Centre that actually makes any money! Maybe you're getting confused with the fact that NWSC reverts to Notts City/County ownership, from Sport England in 2009. As yet they haven't decided what they will do with it. HPP is going to...
