JUNCTION19.COM Junction 19 of the M1, where the A14 European Trunk Route joins the M6 and M1, also known as the Catthorpe Interchange, is 10 years beyond capacity. Its inadequate construction causes countless hours of delays to motorists, results in misery to local communities and represents a seri...

Yeah your right nick! I did have a bit of a mardy after I was told I wouldnt be able to do my second run! The reason I didnt question the decision is I did not want to become confrontational infront of the two members of the jury. Both of which I have the utmost respect for as I have known them for...

I was quite clearly told that I wouldnt be able to complete my second run! I was told I could judge in order to get my time on the water! This was by two members of the jury!!! I didnt hang around for the paperwork to be posted I got off home. This may be correct and a note may have been put on my ...

Thank you nicky! Im not disputing the fact that I was DQ'd but the fact I was not allowed to do my second run! I had already recieved 2 50's and my result would not have counted for anything. Dave it was after the previous event which I decided to put what I thought was enough weight in! I did wron...

Im not disputing the rules but I had put half a kilo of weight in my boat as I knew it was under weight! I weighed it at notts last season and it was 8.56kg so I thought half a kilo would do the job! Not trying to justify having a light boat with the miles I travelled just attempting to explain why...

Having completed my first run at the Bala prem and getting 2 50's I had my boat weighed! It first weighed 8.98kg! I then emptied the water and it weighed 8.92kg! I was then duly disqualified after discussions with the jury! Whilst I understand that my boat was 80 grammes too light I still wanted to...

How many head injuries have there been in canoe slalom. As far as I am aware there have been very few! Never heard of a serious one in this country! Back in the day I remember some really dodgey home made helmets. I had a home made carbon helmet which i used at bourge on 85cumecs. I would say it di...

Try the quantum or quantum plus(cut down) good boats! I would have to disagree that Nomad boats have poor build quality mine is excellent. Had a double Dutch and it leaked like ####. Every time I slightly touched it on a rock it sprang another leak!! I think with hand built boats you will always ge...

In a sport such as ours there are always going to be contentious decisions. We all have had penalties at some time in our careers that have been given that are not fair. I will say that since I have been paddling (about 20 years) I do feel that judging on a whole has imporved. I can remember back i...

I have said this before the majority of people take part in our sport because they love paddling the water! Also the challenge of paddling the course. Whilst I understand that top competitors do not need to practice there are others who need the time just to familiarise themselves with the water ag...
