From what I can see on the video, your reactions and responses are justified. However, this sort of reaction risks putting off volunteers for judging. By quoting lack of experience, I've certainly declined to judge at this level more than once; concerned that a poor decision due to inexperience or ...

there are a load of older recreational paddlers in Division 1 (at least in men's kayak). they are in div 1 and look like staying there unless somethign changes. BUT we need to ensure that they still get to paddel on good water. If you demote them ands say 'paddle Cardington, Nene and Sowerby, not T...

I'm 100% with Katonas; 1:yes [obviously] 2:no 3:yes 4:yes - great idea but I can understand that it would complicate things for compilers. How about a simple bonus point system for anyone who helps at a race. Say; 50 points per event to a maximum of 100 or 150 per season. This could then be added t...

Nobody has been relegated from Div 2 in the previous two seasons, so even though there is nothing in writing [that I can see] to say that they can't, I think it would be a bit 'off' to start doing so without having had a pre-season warning. I can't agree to going from best of 3 to best 5 for promot...

Thanks for the advice.
Has anyone got a program of exercises I could use ? I can find someone to show how to do each exercise; I'd just need a list of what to do with no. of reps. My email is mwilk@liv.ac.uk if you already have something typed up. I'm K1 if that makes a difference.

Can anyone recommend a set of upper body exercises to do in the gym over the winter ? I'm not looking to end up like the incredible hulk; I would prefer 'wiry'. I read somewhere that rather than push/pull as big a weight as possible, it is better to use a smaller resistance but with a higher number...
I see the old 'easier to get promoted on mild water' argument has come up again. The ranking points you get depend on your position relative to other paddlers, not the water. If it's easier for you, it's going to be even easier for those better than you. You could even argue that on a mild water co...
