I think that Geebs said pretty much all that needs to be said about training venues. A few of you out there might know of a certain world class training venue known as the Fisheries! It's just a very small sluice on a canal where a group of paddlers got together and put up gates off there own back....

Mine are at about 45 degree's, don't know exactly. I do it by eye when I set up a new set of paddles. As for the current thinking, there isn't really any, its just personal preference.

I was a little bored at work today and so started to look at some of the info on the new course on the internet. One of the biggest concerns is the cost, which has been estimated at £20 million (the course itself only £7 million). However, if you take the cost per gold medal that can be won at the ...

Thats because they don't have anywhere near the resources and numbers that we have. I'm sure that the world class programmes would rent water time for their athletes and for the rest, they would probably have open slots similar to those in oz. You have to realise that the Greeks get very little mon...

The course in sydney seems to be holding up ok. Fully pumped courses is the only way to go nowadays, especially seeing as we don't have any big enough rivers in the area around london to hold an olympic standard competition. With the rise in popularity of white water rafting, these types of courses...

The whole point of moving the race to Nottingham was to encourage those international athletes, who are competing in the Europeans next year, to come over and race.

I remind you again of the last two years at Llangollen, there were a lot of complaints about how low the water was and that they should have cancelled these races. Doesn't particularly support your argument for some of the best water in the UK!!

Its not about being less adventurous, its about trying to put on a international race in Britain that has more than just a handful of overseas competitors. Unfortunately, very few international paddlers are interested in coming over to Britain to race in Llangollen. Yes it can be a very good race s...

No, he means if we have the last race of the year in Nottingham, we can have it then. I think the logistics of organising the oscars in Llangollen are just too complicated, especially as Ettienne will more than likely be in Oz until only a couple of weeks prior to this date. I know people like to r...

As everyone is no doubt aware, we will be hosting the Junior and under 23 European Champs next year. It is therefore likely that we will be getting several teams coming over to Nottingham between now and then to train on the course. Because of this it has been suggested that atleast one of the end ...
