Perhaps the timing is right (pardon the pun) to make sure we have a standard system in place for all event's, then everyone could have an understanding of how the systems work. I think it would be nice to have consultation with existing timing/results suppliers such as Mikrotime and Slasoft to see ...

Sounds like it Dave and not a bad job either :;): I think someone needs to talk to the BCU to see if they have a system in place that could handle the accounting side, I am sure with the growing resources at the BCU that is feasible and as you say the entry card could be printed off by the software...

I have given up sending SAE's as I have only had 1/2 the ones returned that I have sent with entries, the website is by far the best medium.

Well done Nick for a great job in updating the rankings when you get them :;):

I agree with what you say and it could be easier as technolgy has gone forward, but the downfall I can see is how would you send payment with your entries electronically? I certainly agree with being able to receive entry list's and results by email, this would cut down a lot of time having to do t...

I realy can not think of a better way unless you actualy mailshot all the paddlers that are eligable to enter the races. I know what you are saying that people do not always have access or look at the website but it is the best medium that is available without incurring a lot of cost. At least the ...

Sorry can not comment on the last post as I missed it  But well done to the Ladies great result. It seems as though the Ladies teams are the ones that should be encouraged seeing as how the Ladies won the Gold Medal in the Canoe Polo at the European's in Madrid and a Silver at the Worlds, th...

The Double Dutch Scimitar 65 is a good boat for a junior paddler depending on size & paddler weight, good speed and turning works well on flat and white water. Caiman also have a small boat I believe that would be suitable best to check out the websites and ask the distributors for their suggestion...

Hi Kev

She should be fine, a bit less daunting than HPP, there is only one hole that she could have trouble with at Happy Eater as long as she paddles through it in a straight line she will be fine.

My two girls will be up there on Saturday and you know them :;):

Slalom, as you indicate, takes place in relatively protected conditions where the risk to paddler and boat of a swim are minimal compared to river running. This is true, if the organiser's ensure there are proper safety precaution's in place. Does anyone think that a 10,11,12 year old girl/boy padd...

Whilst the event was good, there were certain concerns about the campsite facilities on offer. Just to put the record straight, no one is saying that they did not enjoy the competition and the organisers did a fantastic job in dealing with the late entries and putting on a superb and challenging co...

Oh you mean the changes after most people had done their practise run's, and the refusal to let people have a re-run, you must have read page 86, 21.2.1 that say's that "After approval no further modifications can be made" There was a notice posted 1 1/2 hours after approval of the course to notify...

Has the problem with the fishermen been resolved to a level that will guarantee the event running in Llangollen? or will it be a last minute change to HPP as has happened in the past which would be a shame as it would not look good to our european paddler guests.

I would at this stage like to draw any organizers attention to page 103 of the slalom yearbook.

I think this is one page that should be read before organizing an event along with pages 114/115.
