Sorry Oldandslow, it was the info on lower division DV's that I never received. Yes, the Vets do score points relative to the division they are competing in but because they do not score the same points I do not see how they can be incorporated. For example, if a V finishes above a DV he does not p...

I was hoping to return the Vets perpetual trophy via young Jake who I was hoping would be able to make the British Open this weekend. Most unfortunately, he is not well enough to compete/attend and aside from feeling very sorry for him (as it was his last chance to get a top 20 ranking place from h...

Ah, ok. Im assuming you are referring to the non point scoring Vets? I have no idea how they can be included and, as I made clear from the outset, one of the objects of this proposal is to make unnecessary/undesireable any other type of class for the older competitors. Sorry, but I do not wish to b...

Yes, that's where you will find the current standings. Div 1 and 2 are all done and dusted now but hopefully there will be one more prem event to come in. Not sure how much difference the results will make to the positions but the DOB's of 3 Prem paddlers will certainly make a difference! If I do n...

Erm...all I have is there old'n'slow. I started this proposal to give more people an incentive to race and to give those racing a chance to achieve recognition for their ability in consideration of their age. Accordingly, I think I would be prepared to supply a perpetual trophy if the proposal was ...

Dave, I think the Melvyn you are referring to would have been Melvyn Swallow. He was one of the few who would snatch the lead whenever Richard failed to nail the course. CP, Would you find judges who could get their heads around the old points system? lol. I doubt you would go so far as to change t...

Thanks for your comments. I will add my vote to the 5 year bands for the same reasons and all those given previously. Might be a good idea to set out where I see the Masters League fitting in with the divisional system so this will maybe bring about more comments. I see the Masters League primarily...

Anyone up for a retro race at an event in whatever 4m they still have kicking around? 210 long Mitchwood or Kober wooden blades too? I think the main reason for them being so long was to be able to reach the surface from the height of the super bouyant kayaks! lol

Yes Jim, I remember the introduction of the Perfekt. There was a very fast Chester Paddler who I can only remember by his nickname of "Woody" (might have been Paul Wood?) who saw it and said in his broad accent "Them ends'll go ferra start!". He was right as it did have an outrageous dolphin type, ...

Hi Dee. The following is all IMHO of course :-) I think it is wrong to judge the proposal by the number of individuals who seemingly have not sent in their DOB details. I think the main problem with getting these is not that they have not been stated but that they have not been sent to me. Division...

Oh! Check this link and then go to the links in there to see the programme for that event containing some boat ads:- http://www.clevercaptures.com/Canoein....1_sXcNW There is a Gaybo advert with 7 Lettman and Prijon designs that will assist with the list :-) There are also boats by Streamlyte (Tyne...

Oh wow, some memories of my bygone boats there! I had a P&H Augsburg in 1973, named after the Olympic venue in 1972 obviously so Im sure you could say the Augsburg slalom kayak was a 1972 model. I was 16 and it was the best £62.50 my parents spent if you ask me! If anyone is interested in my boat h...

OK. As we are nearing the end of the 2009 season, I have now compiled the provisional Master Class League Standings up to, and including, the weekend of October 3rd and 4th 2009 for Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2 Masters. These are provisional insofar as I "think" I have entered everyo...

Wifey and I decided to attend the second half of the Prem event to get some pictures before my Div 1 race on Sunday. We watched in amazement as the river level rose so quickly that judges taking their seats for the start of the second runs had to climb up the bank to prevent being washed away! It w...
