Re: Sealant for deck rim repair
Sikaflex is used with the kayaking indusrty. If you can't find it online you could try asking Valley Sea Kayaks. Theye are located about 2km from HPP and very friendly and helpful.

Re: Is it worth copying the ACM motions to the chat line
In my opinion some solid ideas there. Seperate Jnr's and Senr's is what happens in Germany. They split it : J10,J12 and J14 races, J16 & J18 then U23 and Snr's. They also do age group seniors but I haven't got involved yet. The racing for juniors is largely regional based. Only 6 domestic races for ...

Re: Vet getting too many points
Big fan of the Vets catergory and saw nothing wrong with the previous system. However, the big issue is not points for us has beens or nearly were's but the ever decreasing numbers! 18 out of 60 K1M in the British Open are Paddle Ups or Intl's training for the Worlds. Tees Div 1 had more Vets than C...

Re: Too few indispensible volunteers
Here in Germany the clubs have to provide judges. A bit like the interclubs, each club gets given a section and they have to cover it. That could be adopted and encourages clubs to drag along family members who might get the bug! Smaller clubs shared sections and a big club gets one section.

Re: Is it time for some outside the box thinking?
An alternative thought for consideration: A point based race system rather than divisions allowing paddlers to enter any race (within reason). So you would have 2000 point races (nominally a prem race), 1000 point races, etc etc. Works for C2 and Vets. Yes, you would have the potential for paddlers ...

Re: Is it time for some outside the box thinking?
This is how it works for Juniors in Germany. This may or may not give a little food for thought: Schule A,B and C (J14, J12, J10) all race at the same venue on the same weekend. The format is usually: Friday open parcatice on random gates ie: not the race course. Saturday course is set and approved:...

I'm with the last post on this. Got my highest points at the British Open. Yes, it's harder to get the points but it's very rewarding when you do.

Sounds to me like Arrowcraft should be asked if he would accept being co-opted onto the committee to help oversee and implement his excellent idea!

Re: Veterans - Alternate points
As I recall Jim, one or two Vets were unhappy that they got less points for participating at a Div 1 or Prem than if they did a Div 2 event. ie a paddler would score 500 points at a Div 2 while they ( the aggrieved Vets) would score less than that on harder courses with better racers and would therf...

Yes, thanks to all for putting on the Div 1 at the weekend! It was great to be back racing. Haven't been to "Tully" since about 1997.....really noticed the upgraded......weather!!

Probably worth finding out why the club are not running the race now and then who (if anyone) is still willing to help from the original organising group.

Re: Age Categories for the 2020/21 Racing Season
What has happened in previous season (like last year) when events didn't run because of too much/little water? Did they still get a vote for that event or not?
Whatever the answer a precedent has been set.

Re: 6.1 Veterans Trophies
Steve, my ANY class was related purely to previously held ranking ie: me ranked in Prem C1 but not ranked in K1 above Div 2 thus ruling myself or someone in a similar position from coming and getting that particular trophy.

Re: 6.1 Veterans Trophies
I agree with Rose. Highest ranked Vet who has not competed in Div 1 or above in ANY class. The Alan Harwood for the men and a new one for the ladies.
So, now that is sorted.....where are the existing trophies anyway?

Re: 6.1 Veterans Trophies
I was there! Some of the floor felt that the trophies should only be awarded to K1M others (myself included) felt that they should be open to the highest points regardless of class or gender. As it was taking a while to sort out it was suggested to withdraw it and come back with a clearly worded mot...
