Re: C2 Structure for 2018 Season
We need to find a way to encourage a few crews to make it their FIRST option and wrap around support at all levels. I know C2 looks bleak at the moment but that can change. It was encouraging to hear the Tony Estanguet (sp) has made some very positive overtures regarding Paris Olympics and C2. Even ...

Re: C2 Structure for 2018 Season
There was talk about a bit of a heads together this weekend at LV and a follow-up perhaps at the Prem at TB - is that still going to happen and can someone feedback the headlines please.

Re: C2 Structure for 2018 Season
Firstly, thanks Steve for rightly raising this matter and offering some ideas rather than just identifying the problems. This is such an important time for C2 that we absolutely must get this right or risk killing off this unique class of our sport for ever. To that end might I suggest that we conti...

Re: Time for a radical rethink?
Well Done Steve for opening this one up and for the comments from Brads, Niciss et al. I too come from the dark ages when slalom was in B&W and we had an annual fair at Crystal Palace to kick the year off etc. They were, without doubt, the best days of my life; we have lost a lot and that's not just...

I will write to the IOC.
Any crumbs of ideas gratefully welcome.

Re: Boat Weights
But the UCI are in the early stages of re-considering their weight limits... http://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/latest-news/uci-considering-scrapping-6-8kg-bike-weight-limit-203804 Any manufacturer that made boats too flimsey would soon lose out as we won't buy them. I still believe this is a (histor...

Re: Is C2 Viable as a ranking class?
If C2 dies then many things will die with it. The basic numbers of active C2 crews is the symptom of how C2 is perceived (as a joke / fun event) at probably the majority of clubs in GB - and this perception is now almost universal. The final nail in the coffin of C2 will certainly prove to be the IO...

Boat Weights
I've never understood this. Rules (ICF?) set minimum boat weights - why? I did once believe that minimum boat weights were an attempt to ensure that there was sufficient structural strength to avoid a boat breaking up on the water, really? If this is the case then there out to be many more rules abo...

Re: Future of C2
Thank you to those that have made some great replies.
I wonder if any consideration has been given to making slalom a winter olympic game - would they still impose the same restrictions?
Whatever the future.....SAVE C2!

Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 1 AUGUST 27-28 2016
Oh dear, we are in a bit of a tangle here (re valid membership and insurance). I agree with CW that (typically) Bibs 'indicate' current membership but I can also see Kelso's point that some lapse mid-season. If all memberships were renewed from Nov - Feb (i.e. the 'closed' season for slalom) then an...

Future of C2
Firstly, many congratulations to Fiona, Joe, David and Richard for representing GB. We must do more (as a worldwide slalom community) to preserve C2 at the Olympics. Firstly, I fully endorse the introduction of C1W - no question, I (jealously) admire some of the skills shown by the ladies. But to th...

Lee Valley Div2/Open
Dear All, Entered this event as a double event several weeks ago and booked hotel for TWO nights (£120 non-refundable booking). So it's really nice to see that it's now only a Sunday event (but the course is available on the Saturday for 'free practice' at a supplimentary cost!) Had I known I woud h...
