Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s
I wouldn’t pay £60 for race entry at LV. There’d be no point going up against those paddlers who are there 6 times a week. I feel at least at HPP there is a choice to go there prior to a race, pay your water fee and practice /train. LV doesn’t offer that.

Re: 6.1 ACM Voting
Can I just throw another cat amongst the pigeons ! Is there any element of age in this process ? I come from a non slalom club where AGM voting is limited to adult members, but the active paddlers are predominantly under 18. My opinion on this is irrelevant, but just wondering if there is any differ...

Re: Time for a radical rethink?
There just seems to be a whole lot of serious competition with a drive to the top, and not a lot of competing for fun. Ever driven past the regatta lake at HPP when there is a seniors / veterans race ? The rowers get more 50 + age group in a day than we get in a season. People competing in a sport t...

Re: Entry cards
Click on 'entry fees and cards' on the left hand side of the page for the link to the online card, div 1 + prem, if not send off for some; you'll get them back really quick and probably have enough to tide you over the new season for a few years.

My children's school only accepts online payments for everything and they use a tick box for consent, as you need to be over 18 to pay assume it'd be ok

Re: If the Answer is 42, what is the Question?
I do think its about developing a culture of volunteering being a part of the sport. As was pointed out I'm no expert in how races are run especially at higher levels, but I know I see a few people running round, very busy, with no time to explain to others, who may be willing to help, what needs do...

Re: If the Answer is 42, what is the Question?
Volunteer time is always an issue, there are people who do and a lot more people who don't. In terms of judging, can we look at how polo handle their refereeing ? As well as the match list, there is a corresponding referees list, teams are expected to provide referees or linesman, newbies are welcom...

Thanks everyone for putting together the training and race last weekend. The training day was great especially for the paddlers for whom that was not their usual water.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Glass half full?
How about a Blue Peter feature? Childrens bbc is based in Salford now, ideal for a presenter to go to Manchester CC get taught the basics by an enthusiastic youngster and enter a race. May only be a one off but it all counts. Also worth sending a calender to bbc/itv regions, there are plenty of coun...
